Labor Day store hours 2018: Is Home Depot open?

Need to head to Home Depot on Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 3, 2018? That could be tricky, depending on where you live.

You might think, why would I need to go to Home Depot on Labor Day? I’m not building a house or a new deck or painting a nursery on Labor Day! Silly you. Home Depot has so much more than that. Home Depot has exactly the kind of things you might need on Labor Day and have forgotten that you ran out of since the last holiday. Like charcoal. Or a new grill.

Conversely, you may want to go Home Depot specifically because it’s Labor Day and you want in on those sweet, sweet Labor Day deals on some mulch or new plants or some surprisingly nice furniture. But Labor Day deals last the whole weekend. Is Home Depot actually open on Labor Day?

That depends on your Home Depot. According to the website, the only holidays that every single store is closed are Thanksgiving and Christmas. More likely than not, your Home Depot will have limited hours. They’ll be open for your most pressing home needs, but their employees deserve the day off work too. (After all, it’s a federal holiday specifically celebrating American workers.) So call ahead and find out whether your Home Depot is open on Labor Day.
