Whether it’s an island green or an oceanside view, every golf course is known for its signature hole. What would it look like if we put 18 of those holes on one course?

Every golf course, from Augusta National to your local municipal, has a signature hole. It’s the hole you remember a year after playing it. The one with the gorgeous view, the severe elevation change, the risk/reward tee shot or the completely unfair island green.

A signature hole can be easy, long, unique or gimmicky, but no matter the design, they’re our favorite holes to play and the most exciting holes to watch the pros play.

I’ve gone ahead and done the dirty work, delving deep into the pot bunkers of my major championship memory to curate a list of 18 signature holes from golf’s greatest tracks. I present to you…

Wait a second. What do we call a course so littered with signatures that it looks like the bottom of the Declaration of Independence? TPC John Hancock?

Maybe Bethpage Black Ink? Penhurst? Quill Hollow? Torrey Signs? Crooked Script? Baltuscrawl? Sorry, I couldn’t resist. Regardless of what we’d name this (notary) public links, it’d be one heck of an exciting round.

Please keep in mind that many of these holes have been redesigned, or can play at severely different lengths based on the how the tees are set up. Think of this exercise the way you’d think about a LeBron vs. MJ one-on-one game. Take each hole in its prime, on its best day at peak conditions.

Go clean your clubs, do your back stretches and pray to the golf gods that it doesn’t rain. You’re next on the tee at the PGA Tour’s signature course.
