Holes 16, 17 and 18

Hole 16: Par 5 – TPC Boston #7

In 2011 Dustin Johnson hit a ball 463 yards off the tee on this hole. I figure this late in round you’ll have found your rhythm and should be able to outdrive him.

Hole 17: Par 3 – TPC Sawgrass #17

Quite possibly the most famous hole on tour, if not on the planet, the island green 17th at Sawgrass is the signature hole of signature holes. Professional golfers rarely get rattled on the golf course, but even the best in the game admit to feeling the nerves when faced with the most pressure-packed pitching wedge in golf. The drama of the 17th goes both ways (see Freddy Couples), serving as a stage for unforgettable implosions and spectacular triumphs. It may be gimmicky, but it delivers the goods.

Hole 18: Par 3 – TPC Scottsdale #16

Congratulations! You survived the first 17 holes on the Signature Course and you deserve a standing ovation. The Stadium Hole at TPC Scottsdale offers the best, and possibly the most intoxicated applause in golf. You’ve earned it. Throw on your alma mater’s football jersey, embrace the Happy Gilmore “Let’s make a little noise here” mentality and strap on your caddie racing shoes. A signature hole should be unlike any other in the game, and no hole on this course fits that description better than the Stadium Hole. It’s rowdy, it’s loud, and it’s fun. Just ask James Hahn. Enjoy it.
