CLEVELAND, OH – AUGUST 31: Starting pitcher Corey Kluber pitches during the first inning against the Tampa Bay Rays at Progressive Field on August 31, 2018 in Cleveland, Ohio. (Photo by Jason Miller/Getty Images) /

Top Tier:

Corey Kluber ($10,300): Many are going to move off of Kluber today, and I get it. He hasn’t exactly dominated this year last he has in the last couple of years. He has only averaged 15.9 DraftKings points in three starts against the Royals. That is far less than what we need for the price. However, Kluber still has a 2.09 ERA at home and he has averaged a strikeout per inning at home. I have no issue using him today, especially since ownership may be much lower since Kluber only picked up 7.4 DraftKings points in Kansas City two weeks ago. The key phrase is IN Kansas City. Kluber’s ERA is almost a run and a half higher on the road.

Middle Tier:

Mike Foltynewicz ($8,500): This isn’t the best of situations for Foltynewicz here, but he did hold Boston to one run on three hits through seven innings at Fenway earlier this year. He got roughed up a little by the Cubs last week, but I still like the strikeout upside here. It’s not always easy to get that on a small slate. His price has been curbed back to factor in the risk, but I like it compared to Kluber. Foltynewicz is a suitable fade option.

Bargain Pitchers:

Hector Velasquez ($6,000): Velasquez has been solid for the Red Sox this year, but he has been better as a reliever than a starter. Velasquez hasn’t gone deep into a game in a while, and he has been touched up a little lately. His last clean outing game three weeks ago. This Atlanta offense has enough to get to him. Velasquez is probably my least favorite starter on this slate.

Brad Keller ($5,700): I actually don’t hate the idea of starting Keller against Cleveland. Keller has held the Tribe to just two runs in 9.2 innings, but therein lies the problem. Despite pitching pretty well against Cleveland, Keller has just 18.6 DraftKings points against them. He doesn’t go deep into games, nor does he pile up many strikeouts. However, he should give us decent value for the price, and he is a hell of a lot safer than Velasquez.

CLEVELAND, OH – APRIL 30: Francisco Lindor #12 and Jose Ramirez #11 of the Cleveland Indians celebrate after scoring on a hit by Yonder Alonso #17 during the eighth inning against the Texas Rangers at Progressive Field on April 30, 2018 in Cleveland, Ohio. (Photo by Jason Miller/Getty Images) /

Top Tier:

You could stack Braves if you wanted too. Velasquez is about as weak as it gets on this slate. The lefties should be better at SunTrust Park, putting Freddie Freeman and Albies at the top of most lists. Ronald Acuna deserves to be up there too.

Jose Ramirez and Francisco Lindor are always in play. The issue here is that if you want to afford them, you will likely have to play the pitcher they are batting against.

Middle Tier:

If I take a run at Foltynewicz, it will be with a couple of lefties with power. That means Mitch Moreland and maybe Jackie Bradley for a cheap pick. I’m not paying big money for what will likely be low points from Betts, Benintendi, and J.D.

Yonder Alonso has the only Cleveland homer against Brad Keller.

Bargain Shoppers:

I like Nick Markakis on the cheap here. Tyler Flowers should get the start since Suzuki caught yesterday. I like both of them as a way to save some cash.

If Salvador Perez is in the lineup, I don’t mind using him. He has a homer and eight RBI against Kluber. Alex Gordon has homered twice off of Kluber, but he is just 7-50 lifetime. I’m not really crazy about any Royals here.
