On Saturday, Penn State and Pittsburgh will clash in a battle of Pennsylvania teams. A look at how to watch it online.
Penn State and Pittsburgh will go head-to-head in their annual battle on Saturday, Sept. 8. Heinz Field in Pittsburgh, PA, the home of the NFL’s Pittsburgh Steelers, will host this matchup between in-state rivals.
It’s only one week removed from Penn State’s near heartbreak against Appalachian State, almost the upset of the season.
The Nittany Lions survived an onslaught from Appalachian State, being down by at least a field goal and hanging on by a thread for most of the afternoon. For a moment, it had the chance to replicate the 2007 upset of App. State over Michigan, a fellow Big Ten team, one that sent that program into disarray.
However, in overtime, James Franklin’s group pulled out the win and kept their hopes for a perfect season alive. A loss had the potential to remove them from the College Football Playoff mix in an instant.
As for Pitt, they rolled over FCS school Albany, 33-7. Though, Penn State will not provide a similar cupcake matchup for them.
The Panthers were led by quarterback Kenny Pickett, who threw for 154 yards and two touchdowns in the victory. Can he produce another positive game against a tougher opponent?
While Pitt might put up a fight, look for Penn State to bounce back from Week 1’s difficulties and win convincingly 42-21.
