The Arizona Wildcats fans are watching their team get blown out of Houston, and they are taking their frustrations out on Kevin Sumlin.
Texas A&M fans could have warned Arizona about Kevin Sumlin. Heck, we’re not going to put it past them that they tried.
But, the Wildcats didn’t head the warning, and now, they are getting a firsthand look as to why fans back in College Station were throwing pizza parties when Sumlin was canned.
Sumlin is now doing to the Wildcats what he did with the Aggies, which was run the team into the ground. Except, in Tuscon, the demolition has come swift and ugly. In their second game of the season in Houston, the Cougars lit up the Arizona defense to take a 31-0 halftime lead, and despite their offense coming alive late, the Wildcats are well on their way to a 0-2 hole to start the season.
Naturally, Wildcat fans are not happy with what they are seeing so far, and they have let all of their anger out on the embattled Sumlin. Here’s a sample of some of the onslaught on Twitter:
Weren’t Arizona fans calling Kevin Sumlin the savior, and Khalil Tate the next Heisman Trophy winner?

Luckily Kevin Sumlin is in a place with lower expectations. Already off to an 0-2 start.

Umm. What is Kevin Sumlin’s buyout?

Kevin Sumlin not even trying to pretend he’s a good football coach #Fraud
— Seamus Magee (@SRM95) September 8, 2018
Whoever said he was a good football coach? Yes, he had great success in Houston, where expectations were lower. But when he went up US 290 to College Station, he was exposed for the coach that he is.
Now that he’s back in a lower profile (football wise) school, it seems like his failure as a head coach is magnified.
What's the return policy on Kevin Sumlin?
— Ted Skroback (@ReporterRetired) September 8, 2018
Nope, all sales are final, Ted. Aggieland tried to warn you about Sumlin, but you didn’t listen. Y’all called him the man that would revitalize Arizona football, the “Messiah in Tuscon.”
Well, Sumlin is quickly proving that he is definitely not that, and it shouldn’t be long before he receives his walking papers.
