FanDuel NFL Week 1 4PM Slate Picks

Prefer a shorter slate? Look no further than the 4 p.m. afternoon slate on FanDuel NFL Week 1 with four games to choose players from:

Chargers vs. Chiefs

Redskins vs. Chargers

Cowboys vs. Panthers

Seahawks vs. Broncos

Let’s dive in to some options for each position and a sample lineup:

FanDuel NFL Week 1 4PM Slate Picks – QB

I know that Philip Rivers ($7500) is probably going to hold the most ownership, so I am much more inclined to go with (in this order):

  1. Case Keenum ($6300)
  2. Sam Bradford ($6400)
  3. Alex Smith ($6900)

The reason that I favor those three is because their ownership is simply going to be lower than Rivers or potential studs Newton and Wilson. In a short slate, we cannot overlap at such an important position and expect to win too much money without getting unnecessarily cute.

FanDuel NFL Week 1 4PM Slate Picks – RB

That being said, I am OK with swallowing some ownership here for top backs Ezekiel Elliott ($8300), Christian McCaffrey ($7500) and Melvin Gordon ($8100). All three have the clear capability of hitting 20 points, and the cheapest (McCaffrey) is a near-lock against the Dallas D.

FanDuel NFL Week 1 4PM Slate Picks – WR

For $6300, you have to play Emmanuel Sanders. Larry Fitzgerald ($7300) could get an absolute ton of volume here from Sam Bradford, who loves those little throws over the middle that rack up the YACs. In larger tournaments, I am a large Jamison Crowder fan just because I like the risk, but Alex Smith is a solid stacking option as well (I’d like to get Jordan Reed in that stack as well)

FanDuel NFL Week 1 4PM Slate Picks – TE

Jordan Reed ($5800) or Ricky Seals-Jones ($5100). I prefer Seals-Jones just because I think he will be lower owned by far. Please do not go with Travis Kelce, I am way too scared of the Chargers D to pay that much for a player who may not produce (I didn’t mention Kareem Hunt for much the same reason).

FanDuel NFL Week 1 4PM Slate Picks – DEF

The Broncos are good and all, but I have trouble pegging when Russell Wilson will go off, so I know I don’t want to face off against him. I like the Chargers here just because they can pressure young Mahomes and probably get a tournament or two.
