With the 2018 fantasy football season already underway, don’t forget these four things to a successful season.

The new fantasy football is underway. The defending champion Philadelphia Eagles defeated the Atlanta Falcons 18-12 on Thursday night. That game didn’t feature a lot of fantasy points being scored. Jay Ajayi scored two touchdowns and Julio Jones hauled in 10 passes for 169 yards. Outside of that, not much happened for the other skill players.

With one game in the books, it’s important to bring up the four things to remember above all else to make sure you have a fun and successful fantasy football season.

Scour the Waiver Wire

You win the week at the draft, you win your league on the waiver wire. Unless something happens to your stars, the waiver wire is about finding those hidden gems that no one else seemed to find and add them to your roster.

It also helps in building a deep bench when the bye weeks come. You’re not panicking because you have to start a team’s third running back or hope a receiver gets 15 catches to get some fantasy value.

Don’t Get Cute

You drafted Antonio Brown with your first pick. Do not bench him. I don’t care if the Pittsburgh Steelers are playing the best defense in the league. Brown will be in your starting lineup.

The moment you get cute and bench your studs, you lost. This kind of strategy is good for DFS when you’re trying to make a contrarian pick and make a quick buck. In season-long fantasy football, your best chance to win is to have Brown (or whoever your studs are) in your lineup.

Stay Active

No one likes the fantasy owner that quits after just a couple of weeks. Regardless if you’re 5-0 or 0-5, you joined the league for the long haul. It’s up to you to make the appropriate moves to improve your team and make a run at the playoffs.

Read the notes next to your player’s name. Follow the insiders on Twitter. Make sure you know which players are healthy and which ones belong on your bench or the waiver wire.

Just be happy the season is not as long as fantasy baseball.

Have Fun

Whether you’re in a league with your friends or joined your 10th random league, the final point of playing fantasy football outside of the trash talk and winning a championship is to have fun. If you are not having fun,

dark. Next. Running Back Red Zone Opportunities

With these four things in mind, you will have a successful and fun fantasy football season. Pay attention and good luck.
