The Oregon Ducks look to continue rolling after a hot state as they take on the Portland State Vikings on Sept. 8 in week 2 of college football.
Recently, we’ve seen the Oregon Ducks fall into a somewhat troubling pattern. Whenever you think that they have finally gotten it together and are ready for the national stage again, they falter. They may have the best (and most) uniforms in college football, but they haven’t been on the level of other heavy-hitters as of late.
In a season-opening win against Bowling Green last week, however, Oregon showed the signs of being a team near that point again. They weren’t perfect by any means, but few teams are at this point in the season. Still, star quarterback Justin Herbert and the Ducks hung up 58 points and cruised to a big win. They might put up even more this week as they take on the Portland State Vikings.
Frankly, it’d be stunning if the Vikings weren’t terrified heading into this game after what happened to them last week. Nevada took on Portland State and hung up 72 points on them. 72. Consider that and then think about what a team like Oregon could potentially do to them.
Saying that we could see an offensive show from Herbert and the Ducks on Saturday afternoon might not do it justice. Regardless, if you like points, this could indeed be the game for you.

With other teams in the Pac-12 having shown dings in their armor already, Oregon has to be looking around the conference and thinking they can make a move. The Ducks have been in that position in years past, but have never been able to capture the opportunity. It probably won’t happen against Portland State, but it starts with the Vikings surely.
