Here’s how you can watch The 2019 Miss America Competition online via live stream or the old-fashioned way on your television.
The 2019 Miss America Competition airs on ABC tonight at 9 p.m. ET. You can catch the annual competition online on ABC’s official live stream. Carrie Ann Inaba and Ross Mathews will be hosting along with judges Laila Ali, Jessie James Decker, Alli Webb, Randy Jackson, Soledad O’Brien, Bobby Bones, and Carnie Wilson.
Last year’s Miss America 2018 was North Dakota’s own Cara Mund. She’d previously won Miss North Dakota in 2017. According to ABC, one of the primary changes at this year’s competition is the traditional Swimsuit segment will now be a live interview section with the judges. In addition, the evening gown section will also be phased out as contestants can wear what they wish while answering rapid questions in “8 seconds.” This will be the first year in which Miss America is not referred to as a pageant but rather as a competition.

Local residents in Atlantic City, New Jersey can attend the Official Miss America After-Party at the Palladium Ballroom in Caesars Atlantic City immediately following the competition from 11 p.m. – 2 a.m. ET. In The New York Post, a 2018 newspaper interview with Cara Mund where she was critical of her ‘pageant bosses’ is referenced, noticeably calling “it a tough year.” Mund went on to say how ‘she wasn’t allowed to wear pink because Miss America President and CEO, Regina Hopper does not like pink.’
"My tour manager would come into my hotel room and pick out the clothes I was allowed to wear, saying things like, ‘Regina really likes this one,’ or ‘You can’t wear pink. Regina hates pink. During a photo shoot this year, Regina looked at the Karl Lagerfeld dress I was wearing and said, ‘Yuck. You should burn that. Don’t ever wear that again.’"
Mund has called for a change of leadership since on The TODAY show, commenting that she hopes the next winner “knows what she’s getting into.”
