Winner: Kansas City Chiefs

The Chiefs couldn’t have asked for a better performance from their new starting quarterback Patrick Mahomes. He showed great poise in the pocket while lighting up the score board. This is the type of upside the Chiefs saw during the 2017 draft process.

Outside of the big plays, Mahomes most impressive stat was the zero turnovers. He was able to control the offense and routinely make smart decisions.

Any quarterback would love to have the services of Tyreek Hill. His explosiveness was again on display when he returned a punt for a 91-yard touchdown and scored on a 58-yard pass play. He remains one of the more exciting players in the NFL.

Kansas City’s running game was solid, but wasn’t asked to do too much. Kareem Hunt just over three yards per carry.

The Chiefs secondary was a problem which didn’t come as a big surprise. This group was undermanned even before Eric Berry missed the game with an injury. It’s looking like the Chiefs are going to be in a lot of shootouts this year.

This defense also struggle to get pressure on the quarterback. Philip Rivers had plenty of time in the pocket only getting sacked once by Dee Ford.
