Loser: Los Angeles Chargers

This looked like the year the Los Angeles Chargers could finally win the AFC West. They entered the season with a strong defense and plenty of weapons on offense. However, it was much of the same as they dropped the game against the Chiefs.

The game featured plenty of mistakes by the Chargers who continue to shoot themselves in the foot. Los Angeles is already a game behind both the Chiefs and Broncos in the division.

Defensively they struggled to keep the Chiefs passing game in check. They allowed too many big plays and failed to rattle the young quarterback Patrick Mahomes. Obviously, the Chargers missed Joey Bosa but there’s a bigger issue.

The Chargers offense was as expected. They were able to move the ball easily both through the air and on the ground. However, Travis Benjamin had a rough outing failing to connect on his two biggest opportunities.

Los Angeles is use to this type of start to the season, but the hope was things would be different this year.

The coaching staff needs to hit the film room and figure out how they can put together a complete game. Otherwise it will be another wild season for the Chargers.
