The key to winning any league is managing the waiver wire. We’ve got you covered with a weekly column outlining the 10 best pickups for each week.

Plain and simple: the waiver wire is how you win a championship. The importance of inseason pickups cannot be understated. if you want to win you have to make the right calls on a given week. I’m here to help with a weekly column outlining the ten best options that are available in less than 40 percent of leagues, so you have a great shot at landing them.

The list will be in order based on who you should roster first, if someone is taken in your league move on to the next. We’ll label the ones you should roster no matter what as Primary Adds, and the ones you should add based on need as Secondary Adds.

Every week there will be some guys who are more than 40 percent owned, but I’ll recommend checking anyway just in case you play in a shallow league or another owner had a brain lapse. Those players for Week 2 are John Ross, Pat Mahomes, Frank Gore, and Matt Breida. Let’s get to it.

Primary Add: T.J. Yeldon – 8% Ownership

Yeldon is about as sure fire of a waiver claim you can possibly have, and I guarantee you everyone in your league knows it. In reality he’s one of those guys that should’ve been rostered even before Fournette suffered an injury. Fournette is one of the most talented backs in the NFL, but he ends up on the injury report nearly every season.

Yeldon is one of the best handcuffs in fantasy, and his 5.2 YPC last year only solidifies that. He’s one of the few backs in the league that has a three down skill set, so when Fournette misses time he’s a high end RB2. If you don’t have the top waiver priority you can likely move to the next player on our list, but in FAAB leagues he’s worth at least a 20 percent bid.
