NFL DFS Top 10 RB’s from Week 1
The top 2 RB’s for Week 1 main slate were Alvin Kamara and James Conner who absolutely exploded for 46.1 and 30.6 DraftKings points. Kamara finished with only 8 rushing attempts for 29 rushing yards and 2 rushing TDs but was able to haul in 9 receptions for 112 yards and a receiving TD. Conner on the other hand finished the day with 35 rushes for 135 yards and 2 rushing TDs while adding 57 yards in the air to go along with 5 catches.
According to LineStarApp Kamara was 70.17% owned while Conner was 73.31% owned in yesterday’s NFL Massive $5 Double Up. Melvin Gordon who finished 3rd in points for RB’s yesterday had 23.32% ownership while Joe Mixon who finished 4th was only 1.49% owned.

NFL DFS Top 10 WR’s from Week 1
3 of the top 5 WRs yesterday played in the Tampa Bay & New Orleans 88 point shootout. Tyreek Hill started the game off with 91 punt return TD and then followed that up with a 58 yard receiving touchdown shortly after. I truly thought Tyreek was due for regression this year and he has done nothing but prove me wrong. Michael Thomas on the other hand reaffirmed my feelings on him being a top 5 fantasy WR this year by setting a Saints franchise record with 16 receptions. He received a team high 17 targets and went for 180 yards and 1 TD.
Emmanuel Sanders also reaffirmed my preseason feelings that he would be the #1 WR to own on the Broncos this year given Keenum’s history of peppering the slot WR. According to Adam Levitan, Sanders lined up in the slot on 51% of his snaps yesterday compared to 27% last year. OBJ was able to post 25 pts despite seeing coverage from Ramsey throughout the game. Shurmur did a good job of moving OBJ around and allowing him to play in the slot to avoid Ramsey. I expect the Giants to continue to focus on short to intermediate throws moving forward to get the ball out of Eli’s hands as quick as possible. Despite the rain and the wind both AB and Landry were able to put up over 20 points in their OT match up.
- Tyreek Hill (KC): 45.3 DK pts.
- Michael Thomas (NO): 42 DK pts.
- DeSean Jackson (TB): 34.6 DK pts.
- Emmanuel Sanders (DEN): 32.5 DK pts.
- Mike Evans (TB): 30.7 DK pts.
- Kenny Stills (MIA): 29.6 DK pts.
- Keenan Allen (LAC): 27.8 DK pts.
- Odell Beckham Jr (NYG): 25 DK pts.
- Antonio Brown (PIT): 24.3 DK pts.
- Jarvis Landry (CLE): 20.6 DK pts.

NFL DFS – Top 10 TE’s for Week 1
While Chris Hogan was MIA yesterday, Gronk made his presence felt going off for 7 catches, 123 yards and 1 TD. Gronk saw 8 targets yesterday and will continue to receive a lot of volume until Julian Edelman returns from injury. Congrats if you had WIll Dissly on your roster yesterday, the rookie TE came out of nowhere to haul in 3 catches for 105 yards an a TD. He did most of his damage on a 66 yard catch and score which for a quick second made me think Jimmy Graham was somehow still on the Seahawks.
The Colts were able to support 2x Top 6 TE’s yesterday as both Eric Ebron and Jack Doyle were very involved in the Colt’s offense. This is a trend I expect to continue given Frank Reich‘s tendency to use 12 personnel and the concerns with Luck’s arm strength following his shoulder injury. Jordan Reed is finally healthy and should remain a stribg option for as long as he is. We unfortunately lost Delanie Walker for the year after he dislocated his ankle in the longest NFL game in NFL history thanks to 2 rain delays.
- Rob Gronkowski (NE): 27.3 DK pts.
- W. Dissly (SEA): 22.5 DK pts.
- Eric Ebron (IND): 15.1 DK pts.
- Jordan Reed (WAS): 14.8 DK pts.
- George Kittle (SF): 14 DK pts.
- Jack Doyle (IND): 12 DK pts.
- Delanie Walker (TEN): 9.2 DK pts.
- Jessie James (PIT): 9 DK pts.
- Ben Watson (NO): 8.4 DK pts.
- Kyle Rudolph (MIN): 8.1 DK pts.

NFL DFS – Top 10 DEF’s from Week 1
No real surprised here as the Ravens, Jags and Bengals were among the most popular defenses heading into the week. The defense I ended up rostering on 100% of my teams was the Cleveland Browns D who were the stone cold minimum on both sites. Dropping down to the $2k Browns DEF really opened up a lot of room in terms of roster construction. Factoring in Big Ben’s road struggles, this being an in-division game, the weather, and that the Vegas total drop by over 8.5 points reaffirmed why I thought the Browns were a great play this past weekend.
- Minnesota Vikings: 18 DK pts.
- Baltimore Ravens: 17 DK pts.
- Cleveland Browns: 16 DK pts.
- Miami Dolphins: 13 DK pts.
- Jacksonville Jaguers: 13 DK pts.
- Washington Redskins: 13 DK pts.
- Cincinnati Bengals: 12 DK pts.
- Denver Broncos: 12 DK pts.
- Carolina Panthers: 12 DK pts.
- Tennessee Titans: 11 DK pts.

NFL DFS – Looking Ahead to Week 2
Looking ahead to the Week 2 Totals, we can see which games Vegas is predicting to be high scoring affairs and try to target players from those games while also trying to identify players from games with more moderate projected totals that we think could exceed their O/U. It’s critical to follow Vegas line movement throughout the week to see if certain games totals increase or decrease. Last week the Browns & Steelers total dropped by more than 8.5 points from the opening line to kick off in large part due to the weather.
This weekend will be another big weekend to monitor the weather and Vegas O/U movement as Hurricanes and tropical storms are expected to hit a lot of major cities. Another thing to note with Vegas is the spread and line movement. It’s good practice to try to target defenses that are playing in games with low totals and their team expected to win. With regards to RBs, it’s good practice to identify RBs on teams that are expected to win as this should lead to a positive game script.

NFL DFS – Week 2 Injuries to Monitor
Delanie Walker: Dislocated his ankle this past week and is expected to be out for the remainder of the season. This should lead to an increase in targets for Corey Davis (13 targets last week), Rishard Mathews and Taiwayn Taylor. Look for Jonnu Smith to start at tight end for the remainder of the year.

- Steelers avoid any camp drama with latest roster move
Marcus Mariota: Mariota suffered an injury to his throwing arm and his status is up in the air heading into this week. Blaine Gabbert would get the start if Mariota cannot go, but the Titans WRs all take a hit if that is the case.
Greg Olsen: Suffered a foot injury to the same foot that required him to get surgery last year. He was seen in a walking boot after the game and his status is very much in doubt. Expect pre-season favorite Ian Thomas to take over as the starting Tight End moving forward. That being said the biggest boost in the passing game may go to Christian McCaffrey.
Leonard Fournette: Fournette suffered a “minor” hamstring injury this past weekend which resulted in him not returning. While the Jag’s are referring to the injury as minor, it is something to monitor throughout the week as they’ve been conservative in the past with any injury Fournette has suffered. If he is unable to go, TJ Yeldon becomes a good value at $5,600.
Doug Baldwin: Baldwin left Sunday’s game after suffering a sprained MCL in his right knee. Baldwin had been dealing with a knee issue all preseason and even said he didn’t think he would be a 100% at any point this year so this isn’t great news. If Baldwin were to miss any time it would provide a slight boost to Brandon Marshall and Tyler Lockett.
Desean Jackson: Jackson suffered a concussion this past weekend is in the NFL’s concussion protocol. Chris Godwin would receive a big boost if DeSean is unable to suit up.
