2019 NFL Mock Draft: Justin Herbert heads to Giants
By Brad Weiss
Thanks to the trade the Oakland Raiders made with the Chicago Bears last weekend, the team will have two picks in the first round in 2019. In order to receive the Bears first round picks in 2019 and 2020, the Raiders had to part ways with All-Pro defensive end Khalil Mack, whose presence was certainly missed in their loss to the Los Angeles Rams on Monday night.
When it comes to the defensive backfield in Oakland, they still need help, and that was very evident against Jared Goff and the Rams. Gareon Conley was selected in the first round back in 2017 to be an elite cornerback in the league, but injuries make him a question mark, even though he looked good against Los Angeles.
With one of their two first round picks in April, the Raiders should look to add some more talent to the cornerback position. One player they should target is Andraez Williams, or Greedy Williams, a standout cornerback from LSU who is the best at his position in this draft class.
Williams would give the Raiders another very young, very talented cornerback, locking up that position for the next five years. As we saw on Monday, they have a lot of work left to do in the secondary, and you can be sure this regime is going to make sure they capitalize on all the early draft picks they have over the next two years.
