The Mystics were able to come back from a two-game deficit against the Dream in the semi-finals round of the WNBA playoffs. Can they turn things around again when the Storm travel to D.C. in another do-or-die game three? Or will the Seattle Storm win their third (2004,2010) WNBA Title? This is one tip-off you don’t want to miss!

8 pm ET    Seattle Storm  #1  vs. Washington Mystics  #3   167.5 O/U  WAS -5.5

MVP:

Breanna Stewart – Stewie is the most expensive player on the slate once again.  Her price went up a few hundred bucks on DraftKing, on Fanduel it has stayed at 12k throughout the Finals. LineStar has her projected to score 37.89 points on Fanduel.  She has put up solid number all postseason, and there is no reason to think that will stop tonight. You will need to find a few decent punts to run with her on DK since you only have an average $6,160 to spend on the rest of your players. There’s a case to be made for EDD or Howard on DK, but for Fanduel I am running Stewie in the top spot.

Elena Delle Donne – You can save $1500 on DK by sticking EDD in the MVP spot instead of Stewart. She hasn’t been able to pick up boards in this series, which has limited her fantasy value. I expect her to shoot the ball a lot tonight, with over 20 field goal attempts and some three-point attempts as well. LineStar has her projected to score 34.82 points on Fanduel. She will need to score about 28 points tonight for that to happen, which is possible, but may also limit the value of some of the other Mystic players, like Atkins and Toliver.

STAR:

Natasha Howard – The 2018 WNBA Most Improved Player of the Year has shown off her wide skill set throughout the playoffs on both ends of the court. She can score, she can rebound and she has a knack for blocking shots and grabbing steals. LineStar has her projected to score 30.11 on Fanduel. If you roster her at MVP on DK you can throw Stewie, EDD, and Atkins in there and still have some cash left over for a few punts. I will plenty of exposure to her on both sites.

PRO:

Ariel Atkins – The rookie has been crushing it since the semi-finals started. I’m digging her price on both sites and will have plenty of exposure to her, especially on DK. Loyd is $500 cheaper on Fanduel and I want some of her in my lineups today too. LineStar has Atkins projected to score 26.80 points on Fanduel.

Jewell Loyd –  Loyd played 34 minutes last game but only put up 21.8 fantasy points on Fanduel. She’s a little pricey on DraftKings today and I won’t have her in my lineups there. That said she doesn’t a have a decent ceiling and will make it into a few of my lineups on FD given her price there. Linestar has her projected to score 25.69 points on Fanduel, where I will be running her in my utility spot for the most part, with a cheap punt play.

The Storm are on the verge of winning their third WNBA Championship. They are led by the 2018 WNBA MVP Breanna Stewart and veteran point guard Sue Bird. Could this be the making of a new dynasty in the WNBA? Will Dan Hughes finally win a WNBA Title in his 17th year of coaching in the league? All signs point to yes.

UTILITY SPOT:

Sami Whitcomb (FD & DK) – Sami only played 8 minutes last game but was still able to get me into the green with a decent PPM ratio. Washington are five and a half point favorites in this game. If they do manage to play well at home and take a substantial lead (which I doubt) Whitcomb and the rest of the bench from Seattle may get an extended run. On DK there are more options in her price range to consider (Canada, Langhorne, Powers) but Sami still makes a solid option to run with your studs.

Tianna Hawkins (FD) – If you stick to the script on the previous page you will find yourself with about $4000-4,500 left in salary. On Fanduel you won’t find many other options besides Hawkins. That said her floor is scary low and Hines-Allen has been eating some minutes lately too. She’s a risky play but has one of the better ceilings on the slate for the punt plays.

Tierra Ruffin-Pratt (FD & DK) – I like Pratt a little more than Hawkins today, especially on DK where you can save $1000 by pivoting to her. She played big minutes last game, and while I don’t expect that to happen again she has been a decent contributor off the bench throughout the series. If you play EDD instead of Stewie you will have the extra $500 you need to get Pratt on Fanduel, or you can pivot down from Loyd to Clark.

Final Thoughts

More from FanSided

  1. I’m expecting the Mystics to get up for this game and make it interesting, so once again I’m gonna bet on the over. That said I still think the Storm will win and I am betting on Seattle against the spread.
  2. Fanduel fades: Jordin Canada, Latoya Sanders, Kristi Toliver, Aerial Powers. Crystal Langhorne
  3. Draftking fades: Jewell Loyd, Latoya Sanders, Tianna Hawkins
  4. The last time a WNBA team got swept in the Finals was in 2014 when the Phoenix Mercury defeated the Chicago Sky in three games.
  5. Once again, thanks for stopping by and reading the articles. I want to see the Storm win it all this year, but I am hoping the Mystics can pull off a few wins and we can keep the lights for a few more days around here.
