Aaron Rodgers hasn’t practiced this week and might not before he’s expected to play against the Minnesota Vikings this Sunday.
Aaron Rodgers is one day away from missing an entire week of practice due to the knee injury he suffered Sunday night against the Chicago Bears. While practice would help Rodgers in theory, the veteran quarterback insists that he does not need to practice in order to feel capable to play this Sunday.
The Packers opponent this Sunday is the Minnesota Vikings, and Rodgers is betting highly on himself against a stout defense.
But in good news for Packers fans, head coach Mike McCarthy says Rodgers will continue to increase the work he’s doing in rehab, though he did not return to practice on Thursday. Per Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com, McCarthy called the injury “no layup” and a “day-to-day situation.”
"This is no layup," Packers coach Mike McCarthy said of Aaron Rodgers' status for this week. "It's a day-to-day situation. McCarthy said Rodgers will not practice again today but he's "going to try to do more today than yesterday in the rehab group." https://t.co/pXCKN5A8fs

It probably will come as no surprise if Rodgers plays this weekend. Rodgers missed nine games last season: the Packers plummeted as a team in the absence of their star quarterback. Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer expects Rodgers to dress and participate, strictly because he “walks on water” and the rest of us do not.
While Rodgers may not walk on water literally, he’s done enough in his NFL career to nab that compliment. What Rodgers doesn’t want at the end of his career is the stigma of being fragile. Rodgers is well aware of what’s being said about him: he’s a quarterback with a massive contract but only has one Super Bowl win and appearance. How could someone with that magnitude be given so much money with such an empty trophy case? The only way Rodgers can prove his worth at this point in his career is to play every chance he gets.
