1. Washington Huskies

Rank: 10 | Opponent: Utah Utes | Start Time: 10:00 p.m. ET

To be truthful, neither the Washington Huskies nor the Utah Utes have done anything through the first two games of the 2018 college football season to really impress me. For the 10th-ranked Huskies, they caught Auburn on a bad day in the season-opener in a marquee matchup, but weren’t able to even remotely take advantage of that and still ate the loss. That was followed up by shellacking North Dakota as any decent team should.

As for Utah, their season began with a thrashing of Weber State, which is also what a decent or good team should be doing in that type of matchup. Last week then took them on the road against Northern Illinois and, though it was tight, the Utes ultimately took care of business in this matchup.

All of that is to say that it’s truly hard to tell what either of these teams are right now. Perhaps Washington is just taking a bit longer to hit their stride, or maybe they’re a team that just isn’t as good as many projected. With Utah, perhaps they’re a team that is in the same boat, waiting to hit their stride. Or there’s also the chance that they are one of the more average teams in the Pac-12 this season.

The fact that we don’t know any of this with certainty, however, is why the Huskies should be on upset alert. Going on the road against a conference opponent that could be quite good this early in the season — especially when still reeling from the loss of Trey Adams — could spell trouble.
