Some characters finally faced the consequence of their actions on this weeks episode of Snowfall.

This weeks episode of Snowfall began right where last weeks finished: with Franklin escaping from Lucia and the DEA. He had gotten to his car (and away) fast enough that they weren’t actually followed, but he wasn’t sure if Lorena had gotten any information (like their license plate, for example) and so decided to go into hiding. As it turns out that was probably smart. After failing to capture anyone of importance, Lorena went to Lucia for names. She protested at first, but Lorena threatened to revoke her immunity. IN the end Lucia gave up one thing, probably a name, and probably Franklin’s, because it was enough to get Lorena to back off.

Matt apparently spent the two days he was captured being essentially force-fed cocaine. That sounds horrifying, but he somehow was still both alive and semi coherent. So Snowfall’s habit of sugar-coating the consequences of cocaine use and addiction continued.

Franklin’s mother had found a new house after rejecting the one Franklin bought for her. It might not have been as nice, but it was something she could feel good about. Then two detectives arrived at the door, asking about Franklin. Cissy knows a fair amount more about what he did than most others, so that was a good call. But it also probably meant that Lucia gave up at least Franklin’s name.

The people holding Matt hostage had decided to have some sort of cocaine party, then two officers arrived at his door. Matt answered, and did his best (as high as he was) to convince them there was nothing untoward going on. Of course, if they had gone inside things could have gone south very quickly. Luckily a (sober) Teddy arrived before they could. He claimed to know the officer’s boss (or at least a figure higher in the department) well, and wanted to you know, just speak to him and make sure everything was ok. Now, he may have been bluffing, but the officers believed him enough that they backed off and left. Good thing, too.

In last weeks episode, Teddy asked his boss for a favor: find a way to shut Lorena’s investigation down. She was threatening the source of his capital, as well as himself, his brother, and Franklin. Now that their paths have crossed they’ve become very much intertwined. And he came through. Lorena wasn’t happy when she found out her investigation was being terminated, but her partner reassured her that they did have some information (and people) Lucia and Gustavo.

Jerome and Aunt Louie decided to go into hiding, with Franklin. Franklin’s mother arrived before they could leave, looking for her son. She wanted answers to the questions the cops were asking her (about Kevin’s death) and thought Jerome could provide them. She probably hoped to find Franklin as well, but he wasn’t there.

Jerome spoke some harsh truths to Cissy, that she had abandoned her son, and helped shape him into what he had become. She might have wanted to reconcile, but now Franklin was wanted for murder, so that’s out.

Louie went to the police station looking for information on Kevin (who she didn’t hear was dead.) It was kind of surprising she hadn’t heard, but then again, Franklin and all the others were running away, so they saw him fall, but didn’t really know what happened.

Leon and Franklin holed up in their bunker, or something, when Leon decided to call his mother. He wanted to know if anyone official-ish had been there to look for him. No one had so Franklin must have been the name Lucia gave up. In their talk, Franklin and Leon decided that Lucia must have been the one to give them up, and pledged to go get both hr and Gustavo when they were able to.

And we finally saw all the cocaine catch up to Matt. He was with Teddy when he collapsed, then blood started coming out of his nose. Teddy wanted to take him to a hospital, but Matt just wanted to go home and rest. Teddy listened to him, it remains to be seen whether that was a wise choice.

Jerome and Aunt Louie arrived at Franklin’s bunker  with the news about Kevin’s death. From Franklin’s reaction, he must have really not expected him to die. After being shoe in the back? That didn’t seem super realistic.

Jerome and Louie were making plans to get out when/before everything really went up in flames. Louie actually said she thought it would be best if Franklin was arrested. She had family that would be in prison with him or something? And then she and Jerome could essentially go into hiding.

Franklin’s reaction was telling. As he put it, this was the first time he didn’t have a plan or know what to do. But Louie and Jerome didn’t propose going to prison to him, instead they offered him a way out, some kind of safe house. What will he choose?

In his unsure state, Franklin Calle this father. He couldn’t bring himself to say anything though. He hung up when Leon came in. Apparently some of their friends/acquaintances were saying Franklin had shot Kevin (he did, of course.) Franklin denied it, and Leon believed him. Makes sense, he knew Franklin a lot better than them.

Lucia was packing up her money (and other things) to make a run for it when a man came in and started beating her up. He wasn’t very clear about why. She had the wind knocked out of her and fell, but Gustavo arrived to get the man out.

But things didn’t quite go as planned, and the man pulled a knife. Both of them ended up falling off the balcony. Lucia ended up pulling a gun and shooting the man, but not before Gustavo got stabbed. The man escaped, but he didn’t look good. Gustavo died.

Teddy was clearing out his office, when Lorena arrived. She had figured out that he and Matt were the ones who got their operation shut down. She demanded the truth from him, but it wasn’t really clear why he would give it to her.

Franklin might have been about to run, but he still went back to see his mom. Sneaking in through the back (jumping over fences and such) to avoid detection. He told her he might need to leave and offered to give up the drug dealing for her. Funny how he was so willing to give it up after it was all but forcibly taken from him.

But going to see his mother wasn’t smart, because of course the police had the house under surveillance. They burst in, pinned Franklin to the table and arrested him. He didn’t fight it, not really. It was almost as if he knew how the story was supposed to end. And maybe that’s how Snowfall’s story will end this season. Find out next week in the finale.
