Every year picking the NBA All-Star teams produces lots of hand-wringing (and content) from every outlet proclaiming who got snubbed. Last season, thanks to numerous injuries, 28 players were actually named All-Stars, including 15 in the East.  So let’s be honest, if you didn’t make it from the Eastern Conference, you probably can’t call yourself a snub.

This off-season, LeBron James and DeMar DeRozan, two of the players voted in as starters for the East, have moved to the West. So now the race for one of those coveted spots gets even tougher as 12 of the 15 players from the 2017-18 All-NBA teams are in the Western Conference. It makes predicting a first timer like Donovan Mitchell or Nikola Jokic to get in a risky proposition.

So who will be the lucky, chosen 24? To help figure out the most likely All-Stars, Dave DuFour (@davedufourNBA) joins this episode of Fastbreak Breakfast. Dave is a contributor at BBallBreakdown and the host of On the NBA with Dave DuFour. Who will replace James and DeRozan as starters? Which players made it last year that definitely won’t make it this year? Do any players from teams with likely losing records have a chance?

Also covered: Is it even possible for the fan vote to get someone in that the media and players don’t pick anymore? And did you know last year Zhou Qi got more votes than Jokic??
