4. Ole Miss gives Alabama a scare

We’ve seen this story before when it comes to the Alabama Crimson Tide early in a given college football season. There is seemingly always a team in the SEC that starts off the year unbeaten and starts to get a little bit of buzz about them. Then comes a matchup against Nick Saban and Co. and everyone starts thinking about an upset that could be brewing. That’s when the Crimson Tide and this given team take the field and Bama just crushes all of their hopes and dreams.

Heading into Week 3 of the 2018 season, it appears that the Ole Miss Rebels could be in line to be that exact team. They’re set to face Alabama this week as they come into the matchup with a 2-0 record and are starting to get a little bit of buzz about them because of how potent and explosive they are on the offensive side of the ball.

However, what’s different about this year and this matchup is really the complexion of this Crimson Tide team. With Tua Tagovailoa at the helm, this is a new brand of Alabama football, one that’s a bit looser than what we’ve seen before. And with that looseness comes at least the potential for them to get into a shootout.

That, however, is exactly what you don’t want to do with Ole Miss. Jordan Ta’amu and maybe the best receiving corps in the country can score on anyone. I’m not saying that the Rebels are going to knock off the Tide — though they could. However, Alabama is favored by 21.5 points in this game, and I do believe Ole Miss keeps it much closer than that.
