The No. 20 Oregon Ducks will host the San José State Spartans on Saturday afternoon. Here is the game preview, odds, TV channel, live stream and prediction.
It’s already Week 3 of the 2018 college football season. One game taking place out on the West Coast on Saturday will be between the San José State Spartans (0-2) and the No. 20 Oregon Ducks (2-0).
Kickoff from Autzen Stadium in Eugene, Oregon will be at 5:00 p.m. ET/2:00 p.m. PT. The Pac-12 Network will carry the game. You can find the available live streams for this game between the Spartans and the Ducks on either Pac-12.com or on fuboTV.
San José State has not gotten off to a great start in 2018. The Spartans are 0-2 on the year with losses to the FCS Cal-Davis Aggies and were shut out by another Pac-12 North team in the Washington State Cougars last week. No, it was not supposed to be a good year for the Spartans, as many see them as a bottom of the barrel team in the Mountain West. They haven’t proven much otherwise in the first two weeks of the season.
Oregon enters play at a perfect 2-0 on the year. The Ducks are the No. 20 team in the nation entering play on Saturday afternoon. However, their two wins are over the Bowling Green Falcons and the Portland State Vikings. Not exactly resume boosters in the non-conference. After this game with San José State, it will be all Pac-12 for the rest of the Ducks’ regular season.

Oregon should be an overwhelming favorite in this game. Though probably only a middle of the pack team in their own division, San José State has to be one of the worst teams in the Group of 5. Now they have to go on the road to play at raucous Autzen Stadium in Week 3 as a 41-point underdog. No thank you.
That being said, how sure are we that Oregon is actually good? Bowling Green may be an FBS team like San José State out of the Group of 5, but it’s not like the Falcons are serious contenders in the MAC either. Simply put, we can’t really extract too much out of Oregon so far other than they are undefeated even after losing one-and-done head coach Willie Taggart to the Florida State Seminoles job.
When watching this game, look at how Oregon starting quarterback Justin Herbert commands the offense. He might be the first quarterback off the board in the upcoming 2019 NFL Draft. If he’s not carving up San José State, we might have issues.
All that aside, Oregon should win this game comfortably, but the Ducks are laying too many points to visiting San José State. While the Ducks will win by more than four touchdowns, 41 points is too many to swallow. Take the awful Spartans getting points, but side with the under in this one as well.
Prediction: Oregon 45, San José State 10
