It’s time to (hopefully) settle things between Canelo and GGG once and for all, and we tell you how to watch them do battle again, live from Las Vegas.

When Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez and Gennady ‘GGG’ Golovkin met the first time last September, the boxing world was excited because it was a showdown for middleweight supremacy. For Canelo-GGG 2, there’s a personal element of animosity that was missing the first time that could make the Alvarez-Golovkin rematch even more compelling.

To be sure, there’s plenty to like even if it wasn’t personal. Both fighters are among the best in the world, and their first bout was close enough that no one except for one judge thought either man won decisively.

But in the time since September 2017, a lot has happened. Canelo-GGG 2 was supposed to happen months ago, but Alvarez ended up getting busted for PEDs. He and his camp maintain his test was due to tainted meat in his native Mexico, but his suspension made the Golovkin camp upset, both because it forced GGG to waste one of his few remaining prime years and because there was no way to be sure Canelo was on the up and up.

That, in turn, infuriated Canelo and his people, who took exception to Alvarez being labeled as a drug cheat. Both men now seem to genuinely dislike each other, a far cry from the more cordial, pure competition-based vibe leading up to the first fight.

Will emotions get the best of one or both boxers? Does another year mean GGG is on the downside of his career? Will Canelo be the same, better or worse since he’s definitely clean this time?
