5. Kelvin Benjamin vs. LA (Chargers)

Kelvin Benjamin! Bet you didn’t expect to see him here. I’m in the Josh Allen “not a bust” camp for sure. I think that begins this weekend. Benjamin has had more ups and downs than most receivers the past few years. Injuries, the weight issue pre-training camp in Carolina, you name it. It’s been tough.

The interaction in the preseason with Cam Newton didn’t make it any easier.

Benjamin is due for a break. Against a Chargers defense that saw Tyreek Hill take the ball to the house nearly every touch, Benjamin could become best friends with his new starting quarterback.

Benjamin is no Tyreek Hill but at his best in the past he’s a tough cover. It’s a solid Chargers secondary, give credit where it’s due but with Allen’s arm and Benjamin’s downfield ability, this could be your sleeper pick this week. It’s a deep sleeper, hopefully you don’t wake up groggy if you go this route.

4. Brandon Marshall vs. Chicago

The return of Brandon Marshall, how can we not pick this sleeper. Brandon Marshall had every it of ups and downs in Chicago. Now a Seahawk, which I forgot until last Sunday, Marshall is a fun sleeper this week.

Marshall lives for moments like this and the Bears secondary struggled to the max when Aaron Rodgers went full Willis Reed in the second half. Kyle Fuller’s surefire game winning interception drop sealed the loss for the Bears and this Monday they have hope against Russell Wilson with their pass rush.

Wilson loves all his targets, especially Will Dissly now, and Marshall should be a deep sleeper for the flex who could pile up some catches for you PPR guys.
