Is Power new tonight, September 16? Fans of the Starz original series are definitely asking that question this week, considering that last week’s episode ended with a massive cliffhanger that’s poised to change the show forever.
Unfortunately, you’re going to have to wait to find out whether or not Angela (Lela Loren) survives her shooting and what happens next between Ghost (Omari Hardwick) and Tommy (Joseph Sikora), as the show is not new tonight. The Sept. 9 episode was the Power season finale.
And while Starz has ordered Power season 6, it has not yet announced exactly when the series is coming back. All we know about when the show is returning, is that it will be sometime in 2019. It will be a long wait—but it will almost certainly be worth it.
Fans will be further disappointed to know that the show isn’t on tonight in any fashion. Rather than go into reruns, Starz has taken Power off the Sunday schedule, and replaced it with a new documentary series called Warriors of Liberty City. There are still reruns on other days and times, but you’ll need to check the schedule to see exactly when.
Ghost, Tommy and their colleagues may be done for the season, but there’s no doubt that they finished on a high note. Between Angela’s fate hanging in the balance, the relationship between Tommy and Ghost once again on the rocks, and the shocker leading up to that, this season was one of the program’s best. It certainly provides a lot to look forward to whenever we get to the sixth season!
