If you haven’t heard of A.J. Dillon yet, it’s time for you to get familiar with the Boston College running back. He bludgeoned a pretty decent Wake Forest defense for 185 yards on 33 carries. This is a tailback who is tailor-made to play on Sundays.

Dillon wasn’t the real hero in the narrow road victory though. That honor goes to quarterback Anthony Brown. The Deacons dared him to beat them through the air and he did just that. Brown threw for five touchdowns and 304 yards to get his team a massive conference win. If he plays anywhere near that level moving forward, Boston College will have a chance to win every game on their schedule.

Mark Richt should ask his administration serious questions about why a game at Toledo ever appears on Miami’s schedule. Nonetheless, the Canes deserve credit for dispatching the upset-minded Rockets with relative ease.

Malik Rosier is getting a lot of credit for the victory, but running back DeeJay Dallas was even better against Toledo. His work to grind out 110 yards on just 17 carries was a big reason Miami avoided any drama in this one.

We generally don’t drop teams who win games in the power rankings, but this is a notable exception to that rule. The Fighting Irish was downright lucky to narrowly edge Vanderbilt at home on Saturday afternoon.

Brandon Wimbush is going to have to play better football for Brian Kelly in the future. He only managed to throw for 122 yards against the Commodores. The Vanderbilt defense is underrated, but the Irish have too many weapons in the passing game to be held down. Wimbush either needs to be more productive or he’ll find himself on the bench.
