1. Calvin Ridley, Atlanta Falcons

Stats: four receptions, 64 yards and one touchdown

The Atlanta Falcons didn’t get Ridley involved during their week 1 matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles. However, Ridley showed up in week 2 registering both his first NFL catch and touchdown.

He finished the game tied for second on the team with five targets. The key stat here is that Mohamed Sanu only saw two passes thrown his way.

Sanu has been the team’s No. 2 receiver for the past few years and has done a solid job. He’s a savvy veteran who runs cleans routes and knows how to get open. However, Ridley is a superior talent and has much more upside.

Atlanta knows that opponents will double team Julio Jones at every opportunity. They needed someone capable of making defenses pay for that decision.

It is still early, but Ridley is showing flashes of being that guy. His combination of length and speed make him a big-play threat. However, he also runs solid routes which gives him the ability to work all over the field.

This past week was just a sign of things to come for this young receiver. He should be a solid FLEX play for the remainder of the season.
