Fantasy football 2018: top 10 waiver wire Week 3 pickups
By Rob Wilson
Primary Add: Corey Clement – 22% Ownership
Jay Ajayi has looked better from a fantasy perspective than a lot of us expected but his injury history has always been consistent and we were reminded of that this week. Ajayi is reportedly just fine but Clement showed us that he’s ready to go if that doesn’t continue.
Anyone in the Philadelphia backfield is worth owning when they get the opportunity so adding Clement is a great idea as both a primary handcuff and someone who could eventually have stand alone value if Darren Sproles stays on the sidelines.
He posted nearly twenty PPR points on Sunday and definitely looked the part. He may earn himself more carries on a week to week basis in a Doug Pederson offense that historically favors committees. Clement likely won’t unseat Ajayi for any reason except an injury but that’s not the craziest thing to plan for given Ajayi’s history. Think of Clement as the James White of this offense, but with more upside if Ajayi goes down.

Primary Add: Ryan Fitzpatrick – 27% Ownership
Fitz’ post game press conference told you everything you need to know about this situation. Fitzmagic is alive and well and he’s played his way into a conversation about whether or not he should remain the starter when Jameis Winston returns. I don’t know if it will last all season but as of right now he is worth starting in favorable matchups as long as it does. He posted nearly forty fantasy points and won games for any owner savvy enough to start him with confidence, and he’s still available on most waiver wires because a lot of people think they’ve seen this story before.
Don’t go out and blow all of your budget on him but if you’re a team who’s struggling to find upside at the quarterback position then give Fitz a look. Owners disappointed by Andrew Luck or Carson Wentz can find some consistency in Fitzpatrick until they feel more comfortable rolling out the signal caller they drafted.
