Week 3 DraftKings NFL GPP Sleeper Picks – Main’s Mavericks
Main’s Mavericks – Week 3 DraftKings NFL GPP Picks
Main’s Mavericks is providing weekly Draftkings NFL GPP contest advice by searching out low-salary, boom-or-bust plays destined to outperform value. As a general rule for this article, I target players below $5,000. My goal is to pick value plays who I believe can exceed 4-5 times their value (EX: $5,000 player x 4 = 20DK Pts). I will be using all of my picks in Week 3 DraftKings NFL GPP tournaments as boom-or-bust punt options. Saving on these volatile players will allow you to pay-up for superstars when building that Week 3 DraftKings NFL $1,000,000 lineup.
Mains Mavericks Highlights
Ryan Tannehill 5,300 @ NYJ (24th Priced QB in Milly Maker) – 18.12
Week 2 Low-Salary Highlights
QB Ryan Fitzpatrick 5,500 – 33.98
RB Matt Breida 4,800 – 27.9
WR Corey Clement 3,500 – 19.5
WR Keelan Cole 4,900 – 27.6
WR DeSean Jackson 4,900 – 25.9
TE Jesse James 2,800 – 27.8
Week 3 DraftKings NFL GPP Sleeper Picks
QB:
Joe Flacco 5,400 vs DEN (24th Priced QB)
Flacco has quietly been putting up solid DK performances. He is averaging almost 23 DK points yet he is priced in the bottom half of QBs. I love Flacco off extended rest against a Denver secondary that ranks in the bottom third of the NFL.
RB:
Lamar Miller 5,000 vs NYG (27th Priced RB)
Lamar Miller ranks 4th in the NFL in rushing yards yet he is getting no love. If Alfred Blue does not vulture his touchdown, then we are looking at a 6 or 7K price-tag. Let’s exploit this!
Theo Riddick 4,400 @ NEP (43rd Priced RB)
This is purely a gameflow play. The Patriots are going to win this game by 30, so Stafford and Riddick will get plenty of work. Riddick has 20 targets through the Lions first 2 games.

WR:
John Brown 4,800 vs DEN (47th Priced WR)
A Brown Flacco stack makes sense, as this should be a high scoring affair. Brown has been targeted the most of any Baltimore wide receiver, and he has a touchdown in 2 consecutive games on his new team.
Ted Ginn Jr 4,700 @ ATL (49th Priced WR)
New Orleans vs Atlanta currently boasts the second highest betting total on the board. That means Vegas thinks we will have a shootout on our hands. Ginn is no Michael Thomas, but he is Drew Brees‘s second favorite wide receiver option. Ginn is a safe play because he gets a lot of targets, and a terrific boom option because he is the Saints main deep threat.
Tyler Boyd 3,700 @ CAR (74th Priced WR)
Boyd’s price jumped only $500 despite putting up 21.1 DK points against Baltimore. Boyd sits at number 2 on the depth chart, with only AJ Green and John Ross limiting his WR targets. Ross has 14 targets through two games, and now matches up with a Carolina team that is extremely stingy against the run. Mixon is out, so Cincy will be forced to win through the air.
TE:
Austin Hooper 2,900 @ NYG (23rd Priced TE)
For the implied point total in this game, Hooper priced the same as he was in week 1 and 2 is a crime. Hooper is averaging 11.2 DK ppg, yet he is priced with backup tight ends. Hooper is a great value TE this week, with the hope that he can secure a TD in this shootout.
