2019 NFL Mock Draft: Cardinals nab Ed Oliver
By Brad Weiss
The Dallas Cowboys have been up and down through the first two weeks of the season, as they looked terrible in their opener against the Carolina Panthers, losing on the road by the score of 16-8. They rebounded at home on Sunday Night Football against division rival New York in Week 2, but the offense still looks a little shaky, which is concerning for a team looking to keep pace with the Philadelphia Eagles.
Dallas has the horses on offense to be very good this season, and it seems Ezekiel Elliott is still getting his sea legs under him after missing a chunk of time last season due to suspension. Quarterback Dak Prescott is a solid signal-caller, and while they do not have the best recieving corps, they do have guys who can make plays for you each week.
On the defensive side of the ball, the Cowboys have seen a ton of improvement, and have only allowed 19 points through the first two games. Still, they need help up front in the interior, as well as in the secondary, and adding a guy like Dexter Lawrence to their defensive line makes sense in round one.
Lawrence is a member of the best defensive line in all of college football, and has the athleticism you can only dream about in a guy his size. He is going to be a special player at the next level, and in Dallas, he could give them that big body needed on the interior of the defense, as they play in a division where you have to be able to stop the run against teams like New York, Washington, and Philadelphia.
