2019 NFL Mock Draft: Cardinals nab Ed Oliver
By Brad Weiss
The Cincinnati Bengals will need to have a solid season in order for head coach Marvin Lewis to keep his job, and may have to actually win a playoff game as well. Through the first two games of the 2018 campaign, the Bengals have gotten out to a 2-0 start, including a huge Thursday Night Football victory against AFC North rival Baltimore.
The offense for the Bengals has been impressive this season, and Andy Dalton has worked well with his wide receivers, including AJ Green, who had three touchdowns on Thursday night. However, Dalton has never won a playoff game in his career, and if the Bengals decide to replace him during the 2019 NFL Draft, a guy like Ryan Lindsay should be available, even late in round one.
Lindsay has been an incredibly productive signal-caller during his time at NC State, and would enter the NFL as one of the more NFL-ready quarterbacks in this draft class. He has gotten a ton of experience during his time with the Wolfpack, and is a guy who I could see starting right away for the Bengals.
Cincinnati does have a bunch of talent on both sides of the ball, and they are playing some inspired football right now. With all the turmoil going on in Pittsburgh, the Bengals may be able to sneak up and win this division, and they already have a victory over the Ravens on their resume through the first two weeks of the season.
