2. Los Angeles Rams
The last time two football teams in Los Angeles squared off was 1994, when the Los Angeles Raiders defeated the Los Angeles Rams 20-17. This weekend, the Chargers and Rams will battle it out for the first time as neighbors. It is pretty obvious who the superior team is, but the victor will surely have bragging rights until they meet again.
The Rams are off to a 2-0 start for the first time since 2001 and do not look like slowing down anytime soon. Their stacked defense carries the majority of the load, but they also have a more than capable quarterback in Jared Goff and an incredible running back in Todd Gurley. That is nothing to scoff at. The Rams might have the most balanced roster in the NFL, and might is probably an understatement.
If the Rams throttle the Chargers in Week 3, they surely have to be considered the favorite to represent the NFC in the Super Bowl. A 3-0 start will be somewhat misleading as the Rams have only beaten the Raiders and Cardinals (both bad) heading into this contest with the Chargers. But don’t get it twisted, this Rams team is absolutely stacked.
A victory against their cross-town neighbors would be a nice boost of confidence heading into the first real test of the season against the Minnesota Vikings. If the Rams keep rolling, the snowball may be too big to stop come playoffs.
