Indianapolis Colts @ Philadelphia Eagles (-6)

There is only one thing that matters in this matchup; how good will Carson Wentz be in his return from a torn ACL. We saw what happened to Deshaun Watson in his return. He left much to be desired. Wentz may need a few weeks to play with his new knee brace. He’ll likely need a week to get his confidence back.

The player on the other side knows that feeling. Andrew Luck is also getting used to being an NFL quarterback, but he has two weeks under his belt. He just won his first game in years. Getting that first one means a lot. He hasn’t been great, throwing three interceptions in two weeks, but it’s a start.

There are too many question marks surrounding Wentz, that giving him six points is not wise. Take the points and run, even on the road.

Denver Broncos @ Baltimore Ravens (-5)

The Baltimore Ravens have had 10 days to get ready for this matchup with the Broncos. That’s the only reason why this line could be so high. I see both these teams in a similar situation, which makes it weird that this line isn’t -3. Giving the Ravens, who last time I checked still have Joe Flacco at quarterback, five points against a decent Broncos team makes little sense.

The Broncos are 2-0 after a comeback win against the Raiders last week. It should have been an easier win, but these things happen in the NFL. Meanwhile, the Ravens only have a mugging of Nathan Peterman on their resume before getting stomped by the Bengals.

This line is two points too high, and it might be even more than that. This is a red flag, and one that points to the road team. Bet the Broncos.
