With conference play underway for most college programs in Week 4, these head coaches on the hot seat need a win this week.

It’s conference play season in college football. By the time Week 4 rolls around, most programs are done with their non-conference schedule for the season and are ready for the big games that ultimately decide their fate. For the coaches on the hot seat this is the most important part of the year.

Losing to a school out of conference is one thing, but losing in conference can drastically alter the outcome of the year. By now, we know who the coaches on the hot seat are in 2018. Here are five that need a win in Week 4.

5. Larry Fedora: UNC Tar Heels

Due to Hurricane Florence, North Carolina was not able to have their home opener last week against UCF. That game was postponed and they now return to the action this week, when they host Pittsburgh.

It’s been a really rough start to the year for Larry Fedora, who has dealt with losses and suspensions. Now, he’s about to coach his program in their first home game of the season and their first conference battle as well.

Finally being back at home should galvanize this program and hopefully give them a boost on Saturday. If they drop yet another game and their first of the year at home, it will be four weeks into the season without a victory.

After a 3-9 campaign last season, Fedora can’t afford for this losing trend to continue. He needs to stop the bleeding and get a win. This would be a great week to start a new trend on their home field in front of their fans.
