1. Willie Taggart: Florida State Seminoles

There wasn’t a coach that had a worse day more than Willie Taggart last week. The Florida State Seminoles head coach looked like he was in over his head and the program got rolled by Syracuse on the road.

For those familiar with Florida State, losing to Syracuse isn’t something that happens often. Instead, buyers remorse was suddenly the vibe and social media was abuzz about how much it would take for him to go away.

It would certainly be a costly mistake if the Seminoles felt they hired the wrong man for the job. With one close win over Samford to their name on the season, this does not feel like Florida State football.

With Deondre Francois and Cam Akers, there is no excuse for the program not to be performing better than they are. They were not ready to play in the Carrier Dome and that comes down to coaching.

It’s back to non-conference play this week for Taggart’s group. They’ll host Northern Illinois and this absolutely has to be a get right game for them. If they struggle here and look lost on the field, Taggart is going to have some serious explaining to do and so will the program if they botched this hire.
