College GameDay will go to the Northwest to visit Stanford vs. Oregon. To close the show, which team will Lee Corso use his headgear pick on?

College GameDay will hit the road for another week of college football; it’s already Week 4, which roughly marks one-third of the season’s completion. The usual cast of Rece Davis, Kirk Herbstreit, Lee Corso, Desmond Howard, Maria Taylor and others will take part in the morning’s festivities.

To close each College GameDay, Corso makes his headgear pick for the on-site matchup. It’s usually dramatic, over the top and comical, but an entertaining part of the show that everyone looks forward to.

In Week 4, with GameDay in Eugene, OR, Corso must choose between No. 7 Stanford and No. 20 Oregon. It’s one of the weekend’s top matchups, and an opportunity to put the Pac-12 on the national map when it usually falls behind the ACC, Big Ten and SEC.

So who will Corso choose to close GameDay? What dramatic events might he use to pick between Stanford and Oregon?

If it’s the Cardinal, they enter this game at 3-0, with wins over San Diego State, USC and UC Davis. Combined, the defense allowed just 23 points—a remarkable number for any team, and one that has head coach David Shaw’s group on the rise in college football.

This game against Oregon stands as their toughest head-to-head yet, however, as it’s another 3-0 team that displays a high-octane offense.

The Ducks scored at least 35 points in all three games, including two games with at least 55 points. While Bowling Green, Portland State and San Jose State do not provide the biggest challenges, there’s still plenty to like from this Justin Herbert-led offense.

Stanford and Oregon will contend for placement in the Pac-12 at 8 p.m. ET. Before that, who will Corso choose with his latest headgear selection?
