Loser: Virginia Tech Hokies (No. 13 to unranked)

Virginia Tech was just a win or two from cracking the top-10, especially after how good the Hokies looked through the first three weeks of the season, but Old Dominion had something to say about that.

The Hokies were unable to handle the Monarchs on Saturday night and who would have guessed it would be the defense that was the weakness? Yes, Virginia Tech’s usually-strong defense was poor, to put it lightly, against Old Dominion, allowing nearly 500 yards through the air as well as 49 points. It was a night to forget for Justin Fuente and Co.

This may be the biggest upset in the past decade, or close to it, but the Monarchs were given just a 1.2 percent chance to win, according to ESPN‘s FPI.

Virginia Tech has a question mark at quarterback as well as Josh Jackson had a rough game, though Ryan Willis didn’t fare much better. Both completed 50 percent of their passes with a combined three touchdowns and a pick.

Did anyone see this upset coming?
