Loser: Oregon Ducks (No. 20 up to No. 19)

Oregon had Stanford on the ropes. The Ducks just needed to cross the goal-line to extend their lead to 31-7 and the game likely would have been over, halting any potential comeback the Cardinal had in store. But that just didn’t happen.

With a chance to score deep in Stanford territory, a high snap over Justin Herbert’s head led to a fumble recovery for the Cardinal which they returned for a touchdown and they scored less than two minutes later to cut the 24-7 lead to 24-21.

Stanford ended up taking Oregon to overtime at home and the game’s momentum was in the favor of the Cardinal in convincing fashion. A 24-7 run in the opposite direction was the decider as it was almost a foregone conclusion that Stanford would take care of business in overtime with all that momentum on its side.

Losing at home in a game that seemed like it was in the bag with a chance to catapult in the rankings (a win likely would have put them in the top-15) is definitely enough to call the Ducks one of the biggest losers of the week.
