Hosting Arizona State in Week 4 looked like a sure win at the start of the year, but fast forward and the Washington Huskies found themselves in a dogfight with the Sun Devils. The two teams played a relatively close game but the Huskies just look to be the better team. Expect Washington to hold on to a top-10 spot, pushing slightly ahead of Penn State, which was trailing Illinois in the second half on Friday.

For the second straight game, Jarrett Stidham looked human, but Auburn didn’t exactly need him to have the game of his life to beat Arkansas. The Razorbacks didn’t stand much of a chance against the Tigers and that was obvious as Auburn didn’t quite have its best game, but still won 34-3. Nothing was overly impressive about the Tigers’ performance outside of the defense.

Notre Dame was on upset alert as it traveled to Winston-Salem to face Wake Forest, but the Demon Deacons just didn’t have the firepower to keep up with the suddenly-hot Irish offense. Ian Book was named the starting quarterback, replacing Brandon Wimbush, and it turned out to be the correct choice. He passed for 325 yards and two touchdowns in a 56-27 win.

The LSU doubters continue to look ridiculous after the Tigers routed another opponent in Week 4, taking down Louisiana Tech — or do they? The outcome of this one was never in question as the Tigers were seemingly up 24-0 before fans could find their seats. Louisiana Tech came back to make this one close in the fourth quarter, but the Tigers held on for dear life.

Who expected Army to put up the kind of fight they did in Norman against Oklahoma? Certainly not me, or truly any casual college football fan, for that matter. The Sooners were taken to overtime at home against the Black Knights but were able to blank the visitors in overtime to come away with a win. Kyler Murray was quiet but Trey Sermon had a 100-yard game. Expect the Sooners to drop a spot, or maybe two.
