No. 8 Sony Michel vs. Detroit

Sony Michel got his first looks in Jacksonville and didn’t get off to a great start but in this balanced Patriots offense I think he’s a great fit. James White had shone as that top back target but the Patriots clearly like Michel on the ground especially. Michel excelled at Georgia in that dual backfield, on the way to the title game.

Michel is fast, and I mean really fast, and I think against the Lions he’ll see more of a lion’s share (pun intended) of the carries. The Lions were torched by the Jets and 49ers so this matchup? I’d say favorable.

We’re also getting the likely start for Josh Gordon in New England so coverage may be heavy on these receivers to open this one. Give Michel some touches and see what happens. He’s a flex play if you’ve got any nagging injuries or an early bye.
