Real Betis

Los Verdiblancos under the helm of Quique Setien were La Liga’s dark horse last season as they managed to finish in sixth place while being the most entertaining side in the division. 5-3, 6-3 and 4-4 were some of the score lines Real Betis were involved in last season. They didn’t always win those matches, but the fans appreciated what Setien was trying to implement.

Their summer transfer business saw them make shrewd acquisitions as they aim to build on last season’s success as well as compete on multiple fronts due to qualifying for the Europa League. William Carvalho, Giovani Lo Celso and Takashi Inui were the standout signings. These players could reward Betis’ ambition because they have the potential to take the club to the next level.

They will be one of the teams to benefit most in player ratings for FIFA 19 compared to last year’s edition due to the success Setien had in his first season. Andres Guardado, Marc Bartra and Sergio Leon are just some of the players that his system has brought the best out of. However, the club did lose Fabian Ruiz who was a cornerstone of the team similar to how fellow youth team graduate Dani Ceballos was the season before.

This season has seen them start slowly because they’ve only picked up six points from five games while also lacking the attacking spark that made them so exciting. Therefore, they could be the right team for anyone wanting a challenge because La Liga is hugely competitive with plenty of talented sides.

Playing in Betis’ style is risky because it invites mistakes due to how capable every player has to be on the ball. Finishing in the top four would be a huge achievement never mind winning the league, so they would certainly provide longevity by trying to beak the triopoly at the top.
