Heisman Watch 2018: Benny Snell Jr. leaps into contention, outlook for top hopefuls
2018 Stats: 876 of 115, 1194 yds, 16 TD, 1 INT
Next Game: @ Penn State
Dwayne Haskins has been lighting up scoreboards and stat sheets all season and had his 304-yard, five touchdown performance last week been against a team with a little more swagger than Tulane, he might very well be sitting at the top of this list.
Entering Week 5, Haskins and the Buckeyes are really going to find what they’re made of, heading into Happy Valley to face the Nittany Lions in a White Out game, which may actually lend itself as an advantage to Ohio State, as PSU is only 5-5 in White Out games, with a 1-2 record against Ohio State.
Haskins will also be matching arms with another potential Heisman Trophy candidate, Penn State quarterback Trace McSorley. Usually, battles between two Heisman candidates like this end up giving fans a fantastic game.
Penn State is only giving up 19.5 points per game so far this season, and are allowing only 173 passing yards per game.
This is a battle between two Big Ten unbeatens, and both defenses will look to throttle the opposing quarterbacks. Look for a low scoring game with the team whose quarterback makes the least number of mistakes coming out on top.
