Where can you watch the premiere of the Murphy Brown reboot online?
In the 1980s and ’90s, Murphy Brown was in some ways the ultimate political investigator. The original version of the show featured Candice Bergen as Murphy Brown, an investigative reporter and TV anchor who pried into the goings-on around the White House.
Murphy Brown was never shy about calling out real life politicians. That will almost definitely continue, especially as both star Candice Bergen and show creator Dianne English have said they were inspired by the events of the 2016 presidential election. In some ways it may even serve as a kind of cathartic release (for some). Even though Murphy Brown is, by its nature, a reactive show, the season (which contains 13 episodes) is not fully plotted out, so Murphy and her fictional companions can react to relatively current news over their run.
The Murphy reboot has retained most of the original cast, who will be picking up their characters’ stories 20 years later. FYI, the fictional TV network most of them worked for, is no more, and the social media world is in full effect.

New characters include Murphy’s adult son and a social media manager for Murphy’s company. That last one especially should create some entertaining moments, as many of the original characters are not exactly from the social media generation. Both of these are introduced in a “first look” CLIP from CBS. In the clip, the actors (in and out of character) give a little look at both where the show is going and where it came from. No one is safe from Murphy Brown’s scrutiny.
