Hey guys! We’re back with another “Value Play” article! So lets dig in on this Week 4 NFL Fantasy Football Slate and find out who to use that can help with salary relief but also return value! Good luck and let’s get it!

NFL Fantasy Football: Week 4 Value Plays

C.J. Beathard:

Salary: Draftkings: $4,600 | Fanduel: $6,200

Stepping into the starting role once again, C.J. Beathard gets to face the San Diego Chargers who are struggling on the defensive side. Giving up 271 yards through the air and 120 yards on the ground, Beathard gets to take over a struggling 49ers offense during a good match-up. Beathard didn’t have a pretty season last year with a completion rate of 54.9% while throwing for 4 touchdowns and 6 interceptions. But this will be his second season with Kyle Shanahan and his offense. Also, if it counts for anything, Beathard did come in last week after Jimmy Garopollo went down and threw a touchdown on his only attempt which was called back due to offensive pass interference.

Austin Ekeler:

Salary: Draftkings: $4,200 | Fanduel $6,200

Staying in the same game but on the other side of the field, Austin Ekeler comes in as a good value play for the San Diego Chargers. The Chargers use their running backs often but mainly in the passing game. While Melvin Gordon III gets majority of the carries and looks, Austin Ekeler is the sneaky running back to own. He may not see the end-zone but his splits with carries and receiving, he does break in to double-digit fantasy points. Especially with the chance of the Chargers blowing out the 49ers, Ekeler can see more opportunities as the Chargers look to keep Gordon on the healthier side since that’s their investment.

Geronimo Allison:

Salary: Draftkings: $4,700 | Fanduel $5,900

One of Adam Strangis guys from last week, Allison should continue to be on everyone’s radar. He has scored two touchdowns through three weeks already and he seems to be one of Rodgers new favorite targets. Averaging 15.3 fantasy points, his target ranges anywhere between 4 to 8 a game with a catching rate over 50%. The Buffalo Bills defense is allowing 256 yards through the air but they do have a new feel to them with Josh Allen in as Quarterback so we should be a little concern there as they will play with a new focus. Also Aaron Rodgers is playing on an injured leg so that plays in too but Allison seems to be finding ways to get the job done.

Sterling Shepard:

Salary: Draftkings: $4,900 | Fanduel: $6,200

Going into Week 4, the Wide Receivers of the New York Giants might all just be in play. Odell Beckham Jr. was one of my “Lock Plays” for this week and now his teammate, Sterling Shepard is in play and especially at a great price. Facing the New Orleans Saints, they rank 30th in giving up yards through the air with 336 yards. Being without Patrick Robinson also doesn’t help the Saints defense. You could probably count on multiple receivers seeing the end-zone as we saw the rookie, Calvin Ridley from the Atlanta Falcons, see the end-zone 3 times and going for 146 yards while Julio Jones come in with 96 yards. The New Orleans Saints have given up 9 touchdowns through the air also so it would be tough to pass up Shepard at his price and going against the Saints.

Now these plays aren’t ones you want to lock in but more for salary relief as you want to lock in the higher price guys who should always return value. These plays will help with that and with their match-ups, they could exceed value. I would focus more on Sterling Sherpard and Geronimo Allison as they have put up the numbers for their salary but both are in prime spots to do more.
