Fantasy Football 2018: 10 matchups to attack in Week 4
By Connor Ulrey
3. Aaron Rodgers vs Buffalo
The Aaron Rodgers revenge game. They’re the stuff of legends. This one is two-fold. The Packers went from a tie against Minnesota to being dominated from the jump against Alex Smith and the Redskins. Here’s where it gets interesting. Buffalo? Dominated Minnesota last week. Mental warfare. If Rodgers comes out and obliterates Buffalo, is Green Bay back as the team to beat in the North?
Rodgers hasn’t looked comfortable since going out with the knee injury in Week 1 against the Bears but he’s pushing through regardless. What was lost in the win last week for Buffalo? Cousins still was clinical completion-wise. That doesn’t mean much in a loss but I think it says something about this week’s game.
I expect a small come down to earth moment for Buffalo and if Rodgers can finally find his chemistry with Adams and Cobb he’s used to? It’ll be a long Sunday for Bills fans.
2. Alvin Kamara vs New York
Kamara seems to love this list. He’s had some great matchups week to week and he could be a solid MVP candidate if he continues to dominate the way he has.
The Saints got another win in the column Sunday in the overtime Slugfest with Atlanta. Kamara is the dual-threat running back your favorite team wishes they had. A quick peek at Sunday’s numbers? 16 carries for 66 yards and 15 catches for 124 yards.
Sprinkle in a couple touchdowns and you could win your matchup or daily fantasy pool before the 3:25 games kick off.
Kamara gets a Giants team who struggled against Jacksonville and Dallas against the run, albeit performing well against a Houston team without heavy carries. With how Kamara is in the pass game he opens the game up for himself in the run game. The Giants will have to score and score a lot if Kamara gets the ball going early.
1. Odell Beckham Jr. vs New Orleans
The OBJ game, is this the one this year? If I’m pegging one I think it is. This is two sided. We know Beckham Jr. is in a year with hopes of consistency across the board. The new highest paid wideout in league history can only go up from here right?
Beckham Jr. has been up and down the first three weeks. He started strong against Jacksonville with 11 catches for 111 yards (consistency in numbers!) but only had four catches for 51 yards against Dallas. Houston was a great matchup for him and he rebounded with nine catches for 109 yards.
The Saints have struggled against the pass heavily so far this year. Just put on the highlights from Calvin Ridley last week. Desean Jackson torched them as well Week 1.
The biggest key for Beckham Jr. this week is consistency alongside him. If Eli can hit targets and keep pressure off of just OBJ then I see a big day again this week for No. 13.
