Winner: Notre Dame Fighting Irish (No. 8 up to No. 6)

As previously mentioned, Notre Dame proved itself as a national title contender with a big win over Stanford, taking a 14-14 tie and stomping on it, going on a 24-3 run against the No. 7 team in the country to close out the game.

The difference between Notre Dame’s offense in the first three games and the one we’ve seen over the past two weeks? Ian Book.

The junior quarterback from California has been red-hot over the past two weeks, leading the Irish to a couple of big wins. In fact, he’s passed for 603 yards and six touchdowns with no interceptions and a completion percentage of over 70. This offense just has a different feel, and it starts with the quarterback.

Notre Dame could realistically win out as the next tough game on its schedule is Virginia Tech in Week 6 and a win there could set up an undefeated season.

Brian Kelly has made the right move at quarterback and it’s paying huge dividends.
