The newest version of the AP Top 25 college football rankings have been released, and there was some movement in the Week 6 poll.

As expected, the Week 6 AP Top 25 had some big changes. After two top-10 matchups and a couple more ranked games, the poll was shaken up a bit and we even saw new teams enter the rankings.

Ohio State was able to go on the road and record arguably the best win of the season against No. 9 Penn State in a hostile environment. The Nittany Lions had Ohio State on the ropes, but couldn’t seal the deal. The Buckeyes were down 26-14, but came back to win 27-26. Ohio State looks like the best team in college football not named Alabama.

Notre Dame hosted No. 7 Stanford in a big Week 5 bout and the Irish were able to go on a 24-3 run to end the game with a 21-point victory. The Irish are no long pretenders, they’re easily contenders with Ian Book under center.

The Irish moved up two spots in the AP Top 25 to No. 6 while Ohio State jumped Clemson and moved to No. 3. What’s the rest of the poll looking like?

We see a few new teams in the rankings such as Colorado which beat UCLA in a Friday night Pac-12 bout. Sure, the Bruins remain winless, but it’s a quality win for an unbeaten Colorado team which has eased into first place in the Pac-12 South. Florida essentially switched spots with Mississippi State after upsetting the Bulldogs on the road in Dan Mullen’s return to Starkville.

After losing to Old Dominion a week ago, Virginia Tech surged back into the rankings with a 31-14 dominating road win over No. 22 Duke.

NC State handled Virginia to jump into the poll and Oklahoma State did the same with Kansas.

The biggest surprise this week? A one-spot drop in the poll to No. 17 for Miami after beating North Carolina 47-10 on Thursday night.
