
Kansas State kept it close with Texas in the end, but could not muster enough points to finish the comeback in the second half. This led to a 19-14 loss at home.
The Wildcats found little success offensively, as Skylar Thompson was quieted for the majority of the game and Alex Delton struggled to do anything in the air and on the ground. Texas did not dominate the stat sheet, either, so it kept this game closer than it should have been.
The next game will occur on the road against Baylor, before a brutal three-game stretch against the Big 12ās elite.
Baylor usually plays Oklahoma tough, as seen with their 2017 matchup. This did not replicate itself on Saturday, as the Sooners dominated with 66 points against Matt Rhuleās teamās 33 points to win this high-scoring game.
The score differential led to quarterback Charlie Brewerās 60 pass attempts for 400 yards and two touchdowns. Denzel Mims and Jalen Hurd both had 100-plus yard games receiving and one score each, but it was not enough against Kyler Murray and company.
The Bearsā next game will transpire at home, when Kansas State comes to Waco, TX for a Big 12 matchup. Texas isĀ next on the schedule in 2 weeks.
