Hey guys! Week 4 is wrapped up and we’re now heading into Week 5! So let’s dig in and see what we should be watching for in Week 5 of Fantasy Football!

1. Patrick Mahomes vs. The Jacksonville Jaguars

Patrick MaGOAT is off to an amazing start for the 2018-2019 Fantasy Football season and after proving he can make a comeback last night against the Denver Broncos and an amazing left-handed pass out of the scramble, he now faces the Number 1 defense, the Jacksonville Jaguars. Looking into the first four weeks, the Jaguars stop just about everything. Tom Brady being the only one who had a decent game against them. Jaguars rank 1st in passing defense with only giving up 164 yards through the air and rank 10th in rush defense, allowing only 95 yards on the ground. Mahomes hasn’t faced a true defense yet and this will be the week to watch what he can actually do.

2. James Connor’s Bounce Back Game

I’m sure we thought Saquon Barkley was in a confusing offense, but what about James Connor? He had an explosive game in Week 1 but has fizzled out dramatically since then. It doesn’t help that the Pittsburgh Steelers entire offense can’t get anything going correctly but this week, it should change, at least for Connor. The Steelers go up against the Atlanta Falcons, who are giving up a lot of fantasy points to running backs. Christian McCaffrey, Alvin Kamara, and Giovani Bernard are great examples and they have done it by running and receiving. If Connor can’t bounce back here with the entire Steelers offense then that Week 7 bye week can’t come soon enough for LeVeon Bell to come back.

3. Melvin Gordon III Stock Rise

Going unnoticed, Melvin Gordon III is one of the top running-back’s this season and he’s doing it in a boring offense. While Keenan Allen isn’t matching his stock hype, Gordon is shooting past his and he should continue to do so this week when facing the Oakland Raiders.  He has had only one bad week and that was against the healthy Los Angeles Rams but he still managed to see the end-zone. Doing it both, through the air and on the ground, Chargers make sure to use him to his fullest potential. Logging in 2 touchdowns through the ground and 3 through the air, best to bet on him adding one more touchdown to both columns this Sunday.

4. Will Julio Jones Find The End-Zone Finally?

Look, I don’t know if you can be mad or not that Matt Ryan isn’t finding Julio in the end-zone.  Julio Jones has put up 31, 11, 14, and 29 points this year so far which isn’t bad for a receiver that can’t be found in the end-zone. The targets are there, the receptions are there but his price tag is on the high side sadly. Now, the Atlanta Falcons get to face the Pittsburgh Steelers which should be a somewhat of a high scoring game. The Steelers give up 304 yards through the air and have allowed five wide receivers go over the hundred yard mark. But there is Calvin Ridley, the rookie who is getting all the looks in the end-zone. If defenses start putting more attention on Ridley then Julio Jones, which is very hard to do, then Julio would see the end-zone more but as of now, that isn’t happening.

5. Adam Thielen Pure Dominance To Continue

Kirk Cousin made a new best friend after joining the Minnesota Vikings and man, does this friendship work out so beautifully. Adam Thielen has yet to have a bad game through the first four weeks. Putting up 19, 34, 27, and 30 points, Theilen is getting it done without seeing the end-zone that often. Only seeing the end-zone twice, Thielen gets all the looks with a very high percentage of catching what is thrown towards him, helping him break a hundred yards every game. Thielen gets to go up against the Philadelphia Ealges who rank 19th in passing defense with allowing 271 yards and have already given up multiple hundred yard games to receivers. This is no time for Thielen to cool down or share with his teammates.
