After a little over a month since his reported release from WWE, Neville made his return to Dragon Gate after over a year of inactivity with professional wrestling. Neville well be renamed Pac, as that was his former name in Dragon Gate before he arrived in WWE.

Since his departure from WWE programming more than a year ago and his reported release from the company in late August, former WWE star Neville has officially made his return to independent wrestling promotion Dragon Gate after being inactive for a long period of time. During his return, Neville was announced as Pac, as that was his former name during his first stint in Dragon Gate before arriving in WWE.

Despite being formerly featured as one of the top cruiserweights in WWE, Neville walked out of WWE in late 2017 due to rumored frustrations with his role in the cruiserweight division, with reports stating that he felt he wasn’t going to be able to get to a certain level within the company if he were to remain on 205 Live. Perhaps not coincidentally, that was also one of the main rumors as to why Austin Aries left WWE in 2017. It was also rumored that he was unhappy that he was left off the Wrestlemania 33 DVD, which meant he wouldn’t be receiving any royalties for WWE’s top-selling DVD.

Despite Neville departing from WWE a year ahead of his reported release, there appeared to be some hope for a return based on an answer Triple H gave after being asked about Neville joining WWE’s newly created NXT UK brand not too long ago.

“To be honest, I’m not 100 percent positive,” Triple H said in regard to Neville joining NXT UK (via WrestlingINC). “I would need to go back and look into that.”

“You are 100 percent right, [Neville] is one of the most talented guys in the world. I love the time that he spent with us in NXT, he did a great job of building up the cruiserweight division on 205 [Live]. Time will see where that ends up.”
